Our Mission.

Big Canoe Project is a non-profit, social enterprise that works to get people into action on the water. Whether it’s active living, protecting Georgian Bay by doing water quality monitoring, or building connections in our community.

We offer tours, field trips, corporate team-building, fundraising events and day-camps in big canoes; watercraft uniquely well suited to all ages, abilities and the big water conditions on Georgian Bay.

Join the team, bring your bubble, and come paddling with us for an unforgettable, and impactful, experience.

Our Goals.

Model and enable active outdoor lifestyles in Southern Georgian Bay.

Provide opportunities to participate and educate through environmental data collection, building ecological literacy.

Facilitate cross-cultural, differently-abled and intergenerational learning that celebrates the diversity of Canada's past, present and future.
