WANTED: Treasurer & Secretary

Alright everybody who loves the Big Canoe Project! Help me crowdsource a TREASURER and a SECRETARY for the board of directors of this not for profit! As we get ready for what promises to be an awesome 5th season (!), we must bid adieu to the incredible Shannon Matamoros and incomparable Diana Young (tough to do since they've been with BCP from the time we had to be socially distanced in the canoe!) to look forward to a future board that will help us follow through on our mission to

1. Model and enable sustainable, safe and responsible access to Southern Georgian Bay.

2. Provide opportunities to participate in, and educate through, environmental data collection, building ecological literacy.

3. Facilitate cross-cultural, differently-abled and intergenerational learning that celebrates the diversity of Canada's past, present and future.

In the summer of 2025, that means paddling with New Canadians and the Y's Language and Settlement Services (4 years running!), the CMHA, Abilities in Motion (an amazing adaptive paddling group out of Alliston), Big Brothers Big Sisters, Wildings Day Camp, Bagida'waad Alliance, Meaford Parks and Rec, the City of Owen Sound and, to kick off our 5th season in a good way, the Mississaugas of the Credit w/ ORCKA!
