Abilities in Motion, because paddling is for EVERYBODY!
We’ve been lucky enough to be invited to help out a few times now at the annual Abilities in Motion (AIM) regatta. This Alliston charity has been working for years breaking down the barriers to paddling that exist for differently abled and neurodivergent individuals. It’s an absolute treat to watch them at work, you won’t believe the snappy way AIM can make a canoemaran, or kit out a kayak for someone who’s wheelchair bound. For us, it’s a rare opportunity to work with Community Living and Empower groups for all over Central Ontario who prove over and over again that, to quote the Wind in the Willows (appropriate for the treeline at Earl Rowe PP) “there’s simply nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
